Though tablet pc’s were not the invention of 2010, during this year this kind of computers became mainstream all over the world thanks to the IPad. Yet, it is predicted that during 2011 around 20 different models of tablet pc’s will be released from other companies together with the second version of the IPad. However, sometimes we ask our selves, what is a tablet Pc or what is it used for, because it is something that to certain extent is not useful for anybody, but that sells pretty well.
A tablet Pc, in fact, is a portable computer that can be controlled through touch or multi touch screen, eliminating the need of a mouse or a keyboard. As I said previously, tablet pc’s were already in this world before the IPad came out, yet, they were not very well known and had many limitations. The uses of the innovating gadget are many, though it does not seems like that for people that does not have one. One real life example is the use of tablet pc’s for basic text edition. With the IPad, people have been given the chance to edit presentations, text or spread sheets with a tablet pc, making the Ipad in particular an apparently undefeatable enemy of netbooks. Similarly, other specialized tasks like music edition have been enabled in the newest version of the IPad. Being this not all, Tablet pc’s are being used for education, as thy have really useful apps that enable easier learning. For instance, for the IPad there is a table of elements that show all the information and images of every single element. Nevertheless, according to some statistics, any tablet pc is being used mostly as a game console than for the purposes I mentioned.
Conclusively, tablet pc’s are tools that do a little bit of everything, but are not the best at anything. This is like the microwave oven, as it can be used for many things but is not perfect at anything’s, and in terms of its main purpose in this world, that is cocking things, is crap. Anyway, we all have one at home. Certainly, I believe this will happen in a near future to tablet pc’s and will revolute the way we do many things. Being this possibility, perhaps in a future we will all throw paper notebooks away and every single college student will take notes with a tablet pc. Likewise, we may not see laptops any more with businessmen, instead, they will use the newest tablet pc.
The first one compares the ipad 2 with the new galaxy tab,the lg tab and the motorola. there is a chart where it explains the different feature each one has. Inside the article we can see comparison between its features, i believe that the Xoom motorola has better features and it is a major competence for Ipad 2. However Xoom needs to make a lot more of advertisement if they want to sell their product. Xoom has better quality, more Ram memory, more resolution in the videocamera, interface android 3.0 which seems to be faster.etc
It is important to note that even if other tablet pcs have better features, apple has won the confidence of millions of users and it will be difficult that one of the other tablets take confidence from the Ipad. Besides we will have to wait another year to see the real competence when windows make their tablet pc, (they have announced that they wont make it until 2012). I consider that the popularity of the Ipad is thanks to the information that some customers have as we have said in the class. The Ipad might be cheaper if you compare to another tablet pc but all the other pc´s are more complete because they have more RAM memory, some of the characteristics of the other tablet pc´s are higher and have more capacity. I think that the thing that Steve Jobs said on the conference about that other companies are trying to make equal the prices of their tablet pc´s are being a fail because no one have been able to achieve this goal.
I think it is important and related to the class because I consider the information in this new is more complete and have more specifications about the Ipad 2 and also talks about some financial information that is helpful even though this is not the business class because by analyzing the financial information we can be able to deduce some of the aspects why the Ipad 1 and Ipad 2 are so popular and considered better than other tablet pc´s even though the other tablet pc are more complete.
I think the price and the advertising are the most important factors that apple is taking advantage of because a lot of people that buy the Ipad 1 or 2 have money but sometimes they don’t even know how does the Ipad works and only buy them because they are cool and fashionable. (By Sergio Martínez)

More than likely, and increasingly solid confirmation that the tablet that Microsoft will offer to its customer and aim to compete with the established Ipad will not see light untill late 2012. This tablet, which will incorporate the system Windows 8 to its technology , it will not be available this year but hopes to become the best rival for the giant of apple. In my opinion this will give the chance to Apple to be the leader of all the Tablets market , but in the other side when the tablet of windows is released probably will have the latest and all the technology that any model of the Ipad haves, the problems would be that by the time this windows tablet is released all the people would probably prefer the tablet of apple instead that the windows, the only way that this tablet will succeed is that it offers more things that the Ipad, this things could be lower price, better cameras, better screen definition and a faster processor.
